1. Background

Shaqodoon is a local non-for-profit organization founded in 2011 to provide innovative and long-lasting solutions to the Somali youth livelihood challenges, with beneficiaries coming from different socio-economic groups (pastoralists, agro-pastoralists, urban & peri-urban, rural etc) and different clan affiliations. As a service provider and a platform, the organisation is dedicated to providing skill development, employment services, youth entrepreneurship, private sector business development, and technology for development. Shaqodoon has been an innovation turn key improving early warning (packaging hazard information & dissemination), early action/ anticipatory action (financing community adaptation action plans using local resources mobilised from the Somali people) and areas of risk financing (Incentivised savings & lobbying banks to de-risk/ climate proofing livestock value chain interventions targeting agro & nomadic pastoralists) and supporting disaster preparedness sensitive government budgeting processes.

Shaqodoon Organization is seeking to procure one automatic weather station and two water sensors as part of our commitment to enhance data collection for environmental monitoring and improve weather-related data collection capacities.

2. Objective

The objective of this tender is to solicit bids from qualified vendors for the supply, delivery, and installation of one automatic weather station and two water sensors, meeting the specified technical requirements listed below.

3. Equipment Specifications

Vendors are required to adhere to the following specifications for the automatic weather station and water sensors:

Weather data collection system with capability to capture multiple meteorological parameters.

Piezometric water level sensor with lightning protection and specified cable length.

Piezometric water level sensor with enhanced depth capability for various water level measurements.

-Analog and digital input interfaces
- RS485, 4-20mA output

-Pressure range: 18 mH2O
-Cable length: 20 meters
- Electrical output: RS485 or 4-20mA

-Pressure range: 28 mH2O
-Cable length: 30 meters
- Electrical output: RS485 or 4-20mA

4. Scope of Work

The vendor will be responsible for:

• Supplying the equipment as per the specifications

• Packaging and delivering the equipment to the Shaqodoon Organization, Mogadishu Office

• Ensuring compliance with the warranty and calibration standards

5. Eligibility Criteria

• Vendors must have prior experience in supplying meteorological and hydrological equipment.

• Proof of similar work with reputable clients within the last three years.

• Compliance with warranty and service support standards as outlined in the specifications.

6. Submission Guidelines

Shaqodoon Organization invites tenders from eligible contractors for the supply, delivery, and installation of an automatic weather station in Somalia, in accordance with the technical specifications outlined below. This tender is open to companies experienced in supplying meteorological equipment and related services.

How to apply

All interested bidders are hereby informed to submit their Bids and must be delivered in a sealed envelope to the Shaqodoon Organization office or through email [email protected] not later than Sunday 10th November 2024, 5:00pm (Mogadishu Time). Electronic submission for this tender is also accepted. It shall remain the responsibility of the bidder to ensure that their bids reach the address above on or before the deadline. Bids that are received by Shaqodoon after the deadline indicated above, for whatever reason, shall not be considered for evaluation.
