Position Overview .
The Community Mobilizer will play a key role in engaging minority fishermen and coastal households, facilitating community participation, supporting cooperative formation and strengthening, and ensuring inclusive involvement of beneficiaries in all project activities. The position requires regular field presence and close collaboration with community leaders, cooperative members, and project staff
Main Responsibilities
Mobilize and sensitize minority fishing communities on project objectives, activities, and benefits
Facilitate the formation, registration, and strengthening of fisheries cooperatives
Organize and support community meetings, trainings, workshops, and focus group discussions
Promote inclusive participation of women, youth, and marginalized groups
Support awareness on sustainable fisheries management and environmental protection
Act as a key link between the project team and local communities
Collect community feedback and share lessons learned with the project team
Support monitoring activities, data collection, and reporting from the field
Work closely with local authorities, cooperative leaders, and other stakeholders
Perform any other duties related to community engagement as assigned by the supervisor
NB: Employee duties are not limited only to the above-mentioned responsibilities; they may perform other duties as assigned
Skills and qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Monitoring & Evaluation, or related field.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in humanitarian or development projects.
Experience working with vulnerable groups—widows, orphans, women, and community groups.
Knowledge of livelihoods, IGAs, savings groups, or cash‑based programs is an advantage.
Strong skills in data collection, verification, and reporting.
